    BC Minor Baseball Bat FAQ

What is the difference between USABB and USSSA BPF 1.15 certification stamps?

The USABB stamp indicates a bat is engineered to perform like wood for increased safety and parity. Bats with the USSSA BPF 1.15 stamp are designed with a higher "trampoline effect" (more pop). For BC Minor Baseball (BCMBA) divisions 7U through 15U A/AA, both certification stamps are generally permitted.

What is baseball bat drop weight?

Drop weight is determined by subtracting the weight of the bat (in ounces) from its length (in inches). For example, a 30-inch bat weighing 20 ounces is a -10 drop weight. In BCMBA 13U and 15U A/AA, players must use a drop weight of -10 or heavier.

Where is the best place for a baseball bat fitting in the Fraser Valley or Langley area?

MVP Athletic Supplies in Langley offers professional bat fittings. Our staff ensures your bat meets all 2026 BCMBA regulations regarding length, barrel diameter, and certification stamps for your specific age group.

What happens if a player uses an illegal bat in a BC Minor baseball game?

Using a bat that does not meet BCMBA standards (wrong stamp, weight, or barrel size) can lead to the bat being removed from the game and the player or coach facing disciplinary action per the official rule book. Always verify your bat's legality before the season starts.
